Job summary

FirstPort is seeking a Development Manager in Southeast Wales to oversee a large, multi-facility estate. You will drive service excellence, health and safety compliance, and value-for-money management while leading a team to deliver high-quality resident services.

This role reports to the Regional Manager and offers progression opportunities. You will be responsible for budgeting, contractor supervision, and ensuring adherence to leases and policy frameworks, with a clear focus on resident

Qualifications

• Experience running a large and complex estate with multi-facilities.
• Strong health and safety expertise and experience implementing new systems and procedures.
• Strong leadership and people management capabilities with a view to team performance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver effective service levels and represent FirstPort to customers, clients and developers; ensure development areas are presentable, serviced and well maintained.
• Identify and deliver training needs for the team; conduct reviews with direct reports and coach staff; ensure KPIs and SLAs are met.
• Monitor performance, manage holidays and sickness, organise cover and emergency arrangements.
• Control costs, review expenditures and accounts; assist with setting service charges and present financial summaries.
• Hold meetings with customers, contractors and clients; address issues within agreed timeframes.
• Investigate complaints up to Stage 1 and work with Regional Manager on Stage 2 responses.
• Carry out risk assessments and health and safety checks; act on concerns within required timeframes.
• Supervise contractors and works on site; raise work orders and ensure timely delivery of reactive/planned works.
• Respond to emergencies outside office hours and direct colleagues as necessary.
• Perform regular site inspections and ensure building fabric is maintained to high standards and KPIs are met.
