Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer with a highways and drainage focus to join our Development Infrastructure Team in the UK. The role covers multidisciplinary, residential-led infrastructure projects from feasibility to construction support, across highways, rail, water, and related sectors.

You will lead technical designs, coordinate surveys, liaise with regulators, and contribute to bids while benefiting from a flexible hybrid working model and career development opportunities within

Qualifications

• Civil Engineering degree (BEng) and/or Master’s degree (MEng).
• Experience delivering highways and drainage design for residential, commercial, and wider infrastructure schemes.
• Proficient in InfoDrainage, AutoCAD, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience working with developer clients and contractors, with a proven track record of delivering infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with ArcGIS is welcomed but not essential, with an interest in integrated AI solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical designs and digital delivery of civil engineering projects.
• Prepare and review survey specifications, including utilities and topographical surveys.
• Check and coordinate the production of studies, assessments, and conceptual designs for development schemes (drainage, highways, utilities, earthworks, and flood risk).
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and key stakeholders to secure approvals and ensure compliance.
• Contribute to bids and proposals, attend project meetings, and communicate technical solutions.
