Job summary

Rolls-Royce Defence is recruiting a Development Engineer in Bristol for an integrated role delivering verification and validation across components, benches and flight tests. The role focuses on coaching engineering teams, managing substantiation evidence, and ensuring compliance with project requirements.

The successful candidate will drive V&V behaviours, coordinate risk management, and align engine verification with the overall development plan, sustaining robust, validated customer solutions

Qualifications

• Degree level in Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in relevant domain preferred but not essential.
• Good communication, presentation skills and an ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver product verification strategy, structured verification plan and Product Development Plan.
• Be the point of contact with the project to support and coach the team Verification activities, driving the right V&V behaviours within the project.
• Provide the necessary coaching/support to engineering programmes and sub-system teams to plan the engine verification and validation tests, driving the right V&V behaviours within the project.
• Manage the creation of substantiation evidence, clearance/acceptance documentation that meets the demand for the project.
• Manage aircraft integration issues necessary to support the programme.
• Run effective Risk Management and Project Gated Review Processes for the development packages.
• Develop and communicate the plan for delivering the work on time and remove risks/barriers to the plan.
• Execute and manage the Engine Development Plan (EDP) / Product Development Plan (PDP).
• Ensure R-E-D-V health data reports from Validation and Verification activities is used to drive the engineering programme schedule and to remove technical risk.
• Execute effective communication of assembly, test and strip instructions to support the experimental activities and deliver verification programmes.
• Define experiments/test requirements.
• Define configuration hardware requirements to satisfy verification activities.
• Act as a Project interface with Operations plus Test and Measurement capabilities.
