Job summary

Isle of Wight NHS Trust is seeking a Development Consultant (Lead Software Developer) to act as the technical lead across Trust systems and data integration. The role involves delivering software solutions, aligning with Agile processes, and driving feature development for in-house applications (C#/.NET).

You may be based at IWT or PHU with remote working up to 2 days per week. The position is a fixed-term contract for 23 months, 37.5 hours per week, at NHS Band 8A with salary £57,528–£64,750

Qualifications

• Degree level qualification or 5+ years experience in software development/integration, with experience as a lead developer.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Subject Matter Expert across a range of in-house technical solutions.
• Lead the delivery of software solutions, from requirements right through to implementation.
• Design, build, test and deploy new features for in-house applications to align with IWTs requirements (C# and .NET).
• Risk assess the change impact, and manage changes through ITIL Change Management processes.
• Engage with product owners to understand requirements and convert into User Stories as part of the Agile process.
• Stay current on new digital technologies and maintain an understanding of Trust-wide applications.
• Experience with Healthcare Integration is desirable.

Development Consultant (Lead Software Developer)

NHS Band 8A: Salary £57,528 - £64,750 per annum

Full Time: 37.5 hours per week

Fixed Term Contract: 23 months

Location: Your base location will either be Isle of Wight NHS Trust offices (postcode: PO30 5TG) or Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust offices (postcode: PO6 3EN),

Remote working: Up to 2 days a week.

The SCS has embarked on a journey to share digital solutions across the trusts to improve patient outcomes and the experience of delivering care for our patients.

Whilst we bridge this digital gap in the short term, our long term objective is to share a single EPR across the 4 acute trusts to provide a combined vision and strategic goals of:

• Isle of Wight NHS Trust (IWT)
• Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust (PHU)
• Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT)
• University Hospital Southampton Foundation Trust (UHS)

The Trusts will work together with their clinical and departmental experts alongside regional digital colleagues to procure and implement a joint EPR over the coming years .

Main duties of the job

Act as the lead developer for specified software products, feature developments and the integration of Trust systems, data and medical devices. Technical lead for the delivery of software developments, integration and sharing of data between applications utilising Agile methodologies.

The single corporate service is delivered across both organisation. You may be based at either IWT or PHU and individuals may be required to undertake business travel between sites. For leaders managing staff across multi-site locations, you will need to be visible and provide in person leadership. The arrangements and frequency will be agreed locally.
