Job summary

Cranswick Gourmet Sausage Co. (Lazenby''s) in Hull is seeking a Despatch Team Leader to support the Despatch Area Lead in running the despatch operations. The role features 4-on/4-off shifts from 06:00‑18:00 or 18:00‑06:00 and pay rates of £15.27 per hour for days or £16.77 per hour for nights.

You will supervise the site-based despatch team, train staff, and ensure stock control and safety procedures are followed, with a focus on continuous improvement and covering for holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong command of English (verbal and written).
• Experience in warehousing/despatching duties is advantageous.

An rare opportunity has arisen to apply for a Despatch Team Leader role. As a Despatch Team Leader you will be supporting the Despatch Area Lead to ensure the effective running of the Despatch operations. Hours - 4 on 4 off 06:00-18:00 or 18:00-06:00 Pay - £15.27 per hour for days or £16.77 per hour Main duties include:

• Supervision day to day of the site-based despatch team supporting the Area Lead in the operation of the area undertaking duties as directed
• Continually evaluating best practices and making sure that the shift team use those practices in the day to day operation. Also work to share best practices across shifts to make sure they are embedded within the Despatch team
• Effectively supervise and support the Despatch Area Lead in developing and training the despatch teams. Make sure only staff within the Area that are fully trained on the equipment and signed off are operating those items. All staff within their shift are fully trained and signed off against the legal compliance training
• Ensuring that an efficient, accurate, storage and stock control operation is provided and managed on a daily basis managing and investigating all stock variances
• Undertake any duties as dictated by the Despatch Area Lead
• Responsible for ensuring that their shift is routinely operating best practice ethos. Ensuring procedures, practices, communications, stock control are routinely improved and developed.
• Trained to be able to cover for Holidays and Sickness for the Admin Role and Area Lead role
• Complete daily Short Interval control meetings evaluating where against plan we are and agreeing actions to make sure that the plans are achieved and implementing those
• A background in fast paced food manufacturing, preferably chilled food
• At least one years' experience of leading a team
• A flexible, adaptable, can-do attitude with the ability to learn quickly
• A strong command of the English language (both verbal and written) is essential
• Reach & Counterbalance Forklift licences
• Experience in warehousing/despatching duties
