Job summary

Cranswick Gourmet Sausage Co. (Lazenby''s) in Hull is seeking a Despatch Team Leader to support the Despatch Area Lead in running the despatch operations. The role features 4-on/4-off shifts from 06:00‑18:00 or 18:00‑06:00 and pay rates of £15.27 per hour for days or £16.77 per hour for nights.

You will supervise the site-based despatch team, train staff, and ensure stock control and safety procedures are followed, with a focus on continuous improvement and covering for holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong command of English (verbal and written).
• Experience in warehousing/despatching duties is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day despatch operations and support the Area Lead.
• Train and develop despatch staff to ensure compliance and safety.
• Manage stock control, investigations into variances, and daily logistics plans.
• Lead routine meetings and drive continuous improvement of procedures.
