Job summary

DS Smith in Ely is seeking an experienced Goods Out FLT Driver to support our despatch and loading operations. You will work in a two-person team, loading vehicles, performing safety checks, and ensuring accurate stock movements and documentation.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 12 months forklift experience with a valid B1 Counterbalance licence up to 5,000kg, plus a proactive approach to safety and continuous improvement. This is a rotating double day shift role on site.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 months' continuous experience operating a Forklift Truck.
• Valid B1 Counterbalance FLT Licence up to 5,000kg.
• Experience loading/unloading pallet types.
• Previous experience in manufacturing or production environment.

Responsibilities

• Gather stock from warehouse and production locations.
• Load a variety of vehicles (articulated trailers, rigids, vans).
• Perform daily FLT safety and operational checks.
• Report vehicle defects or maintenance promptly.
• Ensure stock movements are recorded with correct documentation.
• Work safely and in line with DS Smith Safe Systems of Work.
• Adhere to site procedures for transport, health & safety.
• Support the wider operations team to meet KPIs and customer targets.
• Contribute ideas to improve safety, quality and efficiency.
