Base pay range

Location: Central London (on-site with occasional travel to other London-based sites)

Clearance: Must be eligible for Security Clearance and NPPV3

About the Role

We’re hiring a Desktop Support Engineer to support a high-profile, mission-critical client in Central London. This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to take ownership in a fast-paced, high-trust environment where your technical expertise will directly impact the performance and reliability of essential operations.

The position is based on-site at one of the client’s key locations and will involve regular interaction with a remote support team. Occasional travel to other London-based customer sites may be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, on-site desktop support to end users
  • Act as a technical escalation point for complex issues
  • Ensure timely resolution of incidents and service requests
  • Maintain accurate ticket documentation and follow ITIL processes
  • Manage patching, software deployments, licensing, and certificates
  • Monitor system alerts and proactively address recurring issues
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes for users
  • Contribute to knowledge base updates and process improvements
  • Assist with change management and routine maintenance tasks
  • Identify potential security or major incidents and escalate appropriately
  • Lead regular service reviews with the customer

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience in a Desktop Support or IT Support role
  • Solid technical knowledge of Microsoft environments (AD, Azure AD, Windows Server, GPO, M365)
  • Experience with ITSM platforms (ConnectWise preferred)
  • Basic networking knowledge (LAN, firewalls, troubleshooting)
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to work with senior stakeholders
  • Organised, proactive, and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable working independently on-site and collaborating with remote teams
  • Willingness to travel locally as required
  • Eligible for Security Clearance and NPPV3
