Job description

An experienced Desktop Claims Adjuster is required to join a reputable long established Claims Management organisation.


My client is looking to strengthen their Desk-Claims Handling team due to growth and expansion which will be an exciting time to join.

It is a fully remote working role.

Working with both Domestic and Commercial Properties, you will be working with dedicated Insurers or Policyholders to manage their Property Damage claims through to settlement including repair stage where you will utilise your technical knowledge by building scopes from evidence gathered such as photos, videos and agree cash settlements.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage your own portfolio of claims cradle to grave including managing the repair stage.
  2. Liaise with Insurers, Policyholders, Contractors, Third Parties, Surveyors and all relevant parties as required via email and telephone.
  3. Gather evidence to determine liability.
  4. Build scopes/schedule of works from Photos/Videos.
  5. Assist in the negotiation and settlement of the claims.
  6. Deal with all general perils including fire, flood, escape of water, storm, subsidence, impact, etc.
About You
  1. Experienced in managing your own portfolio of Property Claims (all general perils).
  2. Ability to scope works from property damage evidence.
  3. Ability to manage all relevant parties throughout the repair stage.
  4. Experienced in liaising with policyholders arranging alternative accommodation as and when required.
  5. Exceptional communication skills, being able to work with people at all levels whilst building rapport and good customer/client relationships.
  6. Ability to work in a pressured environment whilst staying calm and offering reassurance, showing empathy when dealing with difficult situations.
  7. A background working in Insurance Claims, contracting, housing or maintenance environment.
  8. Ability to prioritise and manage your own workload.
  9. Good IT systems experience including Excel and Word.
  10. Comfortable, confident, and able to work fully remote.
  11. Industry qualifications would be advantageous such as BDMA, Cert CILA.
