Job summary

Halfords is seeking a Designate Centre Manager to lead in-centre teams, support multiple centres within a travel‑friendly area, and drive a top customer experience. The role is a pathway to running your own allocated centre as opportunities arise, with a structured induction and progression plan.

You will lead with a coaching style, manage performance, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and work closely with the management team to deliver financial and service targets across the Autocentre

Qualifications

• Fantastic leadership and team management skills within the automotive or similar industry.
• Experience delivering high customer satisfaction and effective management.
• Engaging and motivational, coaching-based approach to team development and training.
• Strong financial acumen with experience of managing P&L and optimizing profit.
• Experience meeting Health and Safety compliance standards.
• Experienced with high sales turnover and managing KPI’s.
• Excellent communication skills, verbally and written.
• IT Proficient, with willingness to learn in-house systems.
• Good time management.
• A current valid driving licence.

A newly created role within our Autocentre business, our Designate centre managers will be a vital support to our management team. As a Designate centre manager, you will be supporting local centres within the area within a reasonable travel time and leading the in centre teams with support, encouragement, and motivation. No two days are the same so you will need to be open to change, adaptable, and ensure that the team are on board and motivated to constantly move forwards with the everchanging environment that adapts to meet our customers’ needs and demands. This experience will set you up to successfully run your own allocated centre when an appropriate vacancy arises.

• On-target earnings up to £51,000
• Comprising a base salary of up to £40,000
• An uncapped monthly bonus scheme with average additional earnings of £11,000 per year.
