Job summary

Lift Tamworth is seeking a DT Technician to provide practical support in our Design & Technology department. You’ll prepare materials, tools and equipment for lessons and help students use equipment safely and confidently.

You’ll work with staff to maintain a safe, well‑stocked workshop, perform routine checks and support ordering of resources. GCSEs and a relevant Level 3 qualification are desirable, with school experience preferred.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at grade 4/C or above.
• A Level 3 qualification in Design & Technology or related field preferred.
• Experience in a school or educational workshop is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials, tools, machinery and equipment for practical DT lessons.
• Support teachers and students during practical activities, promoting the safe use of specialist equipment.
• Carry out routine checks, cleaning, maintenance and basic repairs of tools and machinery.
• Maintain an organised, safe and well-stocked workshop and preparation area.
• Manage resources and stock and support ordering where required.
• Help maintain high standards of health and safety across the DT department.
