Job summary

Lift Tamworth is seeking a DT Technician to join our Design & Technology department and provide high-quality technical support for practical lessons. You will prepare materials, tools and equipment, supervise safe use of machinery, and help maintain a well-organised workshop and stock system.

You will work closely with teachers and pupils, conduct routine equipment checks, assist with maintenance, and contribute to high health and safety standards across the DT area.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above, or equivalent.
• Level 3 qualification (A level, BTEC or NVQ) in Design & Technology or related discipline desirable.
• Previous experience in a school setting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials, tools, machinery and equipment for practical DT lessons
• Support teachers and students during practical activities, promoting the safe use of specialist equipment
• Carry out routine checks, cleaning, maintenance and basic repairs of tools and machinery
• Maintain an organised, safe and well-stocked workshop and preparation area
• Manage resources and stock and support ordering where required
• Help maintain high standards of health and safety across the DT department
