Job summary

Lift Tamworth is seeking a DT Technician to join our team and provide high-quality technical support across the Design & Technology department. You’ll prepare materials, tools and equipment for practical lessons and ensure safe, well-prepared resources for students and staff.

You’ll work closely with teachers to maintain a well-organised workshop, carry out routine equipment checks and support safe practice. The role is full-time in a school setting with a fixed-term contract to 16 July 2027.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).
• A Level 3 qualification in Design & Technology, Engineering or related discipline desirable.
• Experience in a school or education workshop is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials, tools, machinery and equipment for practical DT lessons
• Support teachers and students during practical activities, promoting safe use of equipment
• Carry out routine checks, cleaning, maintenance and basic repairs
• Maintain a safe, well-stocked workshop and preparation area
• Assist with stock management and sourcing where required
• Support health and safety standards across the DT department
