We are seeking a skilled Design & Technology Technician to provide essential support to our Design & Technology Department. The ideal candidate will be proficient in the setup, use, and maintenance of workshop equipment and machinery, including new technologies such as laser cutting and 3D printing, as well as art processes. The role involves preparing resources and equipment for lessons, including materials such as wood, metal, and plastics, maintaining machinery, and ordering supplies.
Previous experience in an educational setting is preferred, as you will be required to assist students and staff within the workshops. A basic understanding of engineering and/or mechanics would be highly beneficial, although full training will be provided.
Our school is an oversubscribed 11-18 mixed academy with high academic achievement, and our facilities were upgraded in 2022, featuring three workshops, two computer suites, and dedicated spaces for 3D printing and laser cutting projects. We pride ourselves on excellent student behaviour and a collaborative, supportive environment.
