Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a passionate Design & Technology Teacher for a secondary school in Weymouth, Dorset. You will plan and deliver engaging DT lessons, developing students' practical and theoretical skills while maintaining high standards of behaviour and safety.

The role involves supporting students with varying abilities, preparing GCSE coursework where appropriate, and collaborating with the DT department to inspire confidence in practical work.

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering engaging Design & Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
• Developing students' practical, creative and technical abilities
• Teaching a range of materials, tools, processes and manufacturing techniques
• Supporting students in developing design ideas from concept through to finished product
• Preparing students for GCSE examinations where appropriate
• Creating an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment
• Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback
• Supporting students with a range of abilities and additional learning needs
• Maintaining high expectations of behaviour, achievement and safety
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Design & Technology department
