Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Dorchester is seeking a dedicated Design & Technology Teacher to inspire students in Key Stages 3 and 4. You will deliver practical, engaging lessons and help learners develop hands-on skills in design, fabrication and safe workshop practice.

You should hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification and demonstrate strong subject knowledge, solid classroom management and the ability to adapt to learners of different abilities.

Qualifications

  • Strong subject knowledge in Design & Technology.
  • Experience teaching at secondary level, KS3/KS4.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering engaging and well-structured lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Developing students' practical, creative and technical abilities

  • Encouraging creativity, innovation and independent problem-solving
  • Supporting students through design projects from initial concepts to completed outcomes
  • Preparing and delivering GCSE-level content where required
  • Monitoring and assessing student progress effectively
  • Providing clear, constructive feedback to support student development
  • Creating an inclusive classroom where all students are encouraged to participate and succeed
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to the wider Design & Technology curriculum

Job description

Teaching Personnel is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Design & Technology Teacher to work within a secondary school in Dorchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative educator who is passionate about practical learning and keen to help students develop valuable technical, design and problem-solving skills.

You will join a supportive school environment where students are encouraged to be creative, think independently and develop confidence through practical and theoretical learning.

The successful Design & Technology Teacher will be responsible for:
