Job summary

WSP is seeking a Design Safety Compliance Advisor to join our growing UK team. You will provide specialist advice on CDM 2015, Safety in Design, and regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle, collaborating with designers, project managers, clients and stakeholders to embed safety in planning, design and construction.

The role focuses on major energy infrastructure projects across transmission, distribution, renewables and low‑carbon sectors, with emphasis on design risk management,

Qualifications

• Experience in CDM 2015 and health and safety compliance.
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation.
• Experience on energy, utilities, infrastructure, engineering or construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide CDM 2015 and Safety in Design guidance to project teams.
• Facilitate design risk assessments, hazard workshops, and risk reviews.
• Support designers in eliminating, reducing, and controlling risks at source.
• Review hazard records and design risk registers.
• Undertake CDM compliance audits, gap analyses, and assurance activities.
• Assist in the development of Pre-Construction Information (PCI) and Health & Safety File requirements.
• Engage with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to support effective risk management.
• Promote best practice and continuous improvement in design safety and compliance.
• Support major infrastructure projects across transmission, distribution, HVDC, substations, renewables, and low‑carbon energy sectors.
