Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in the UK seeks a Method Engineer / Design Coordinator to coordinate design and construction for Dartford tunnels and QE2 Bridge. You will provide technical input, review design proposals, and act as the interface between site operations and design teams.

The role requires coordinating external designers, ensuring quality, safety and timely delivery, with weekly site presence and focus on design delivery across secondary steelwork and M&E schemes.

Qualifications

• Relevant vocational qualifications as above.
• Membership of ICE/IET/IMeche beneficial.
• Knowledge of CDM and health & safety regulation.
• Broad understanding of engineering principles for bridges & tunnels.
• Broad knowledge of Quality Management.
• Proficient IT skills (Microsoft Office).
• Experience in a design team coordinating interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Design coordinator across a range of secondary steelwork and M&E schemes.
• Manage design delivery and review documentation from internal/external consultants.
• Prepare, raise or check Temporary Works Briefs and methods of work.
• Lead weekly construction site interface between site operations and design & engineering teams.
• Monitor quality standards and CDM compliance; liaise with National Highways and authorities.
• Support Asset Management Forward Plans and design feasibility work.
• Attend relevant community forums and share learnings across the business.
