Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Design Manager to join the Hogsmill STW team in Kingston Upon Thames, to lead design through the project lifecycle, ensuring safe, compliant, buildable and sustainable solutions for Thames Water.

Working within a Tier 1 contractor environment, you will coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, manage interfaces and risks, and drive delivery to programme, cost, quality and handover milestones.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in civil, electrical, mechanical or process engineering.
• Experience in the water sector and water/wastewater capital delivery.
• Proven track record leading multidisciplinary design teams in contractor-led projects.
• Experience managing design delivery, risks, interfaces, and change control.
• Membership of a relevant professional institution and driving licence where required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design process across all project stages, coordinating multidisciplinary design teams and managing deliverables to milestones
• Implement design reviews, buildability assessments and stage-gate assurance with audit trails
• Manage design risks, change control and technical queries affecting safety, scope, cost and programme
• Build relationships with clients, designers, suppliers and regulators and communicate progress
• Support value engineering and sustainability considerations, promoting innovation
