Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Design Manager to join the Severn Trent Water framework based in Sheffield. You will lead design programmes and coordinate internal and external designers, stakeholders and client teams to deliver compliant, innovative solutions.

The role focuses on buildability, budgets, value engineering, and adherence to standards, legislation and Safe by Design principles, with a collaborative, cross-disciplinary approach across projects valued from several million to over £200m.

Qualifications

• This role requires proven experience in managing design teams and coordinating with clients, staff and suppliers.
• Ability to develop design programmes and manage design development with buildability focus.
• Experience in leading value engineering and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and legislation.

Responsibilities

• Manage design consultant appointments and ensure compliance with briefs and standards.
• Develop design programmes, scopes and responsibility matrices, coordinating design development.
• Lead value engineering and ensure designs meet safety, sustainability and lifecycle cost goals.
• Chair design review meetings and resolve interfaces to deliver design information on time.
