WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced Design Manager based in Bristol to lead highway design schemes from complex Design & Build to safety and maintenance projects. You will chair design teams, manage risks, ensure compliance with standards, and deliver high-quality outcomes for major UK clients.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant discipline.
• Chartered membership of a professional body.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary design teams to deliver on time and budget.
• Applied CDM Regulations to project safety and risk management.
• Familiarity with NEC contracts and major UK clients in design consultancy.

Aufgaben

• Drive clear communication across internal teams and external stakeholders, chairing design team meetings and ensuring actions are completed.
• Identify and manage design risks and support change control with clear scope boundaries.
• Ensure compliance with standards and legislation including DMRB, MCHW, TSRGD and Manual for Streets.
• Coordinate design reviews, clash detection, value engineering, and independent checks as required.
• Ensure designs are constructible, maintainable, and fit for client expectations and budget.
• Maintain project records, update delivery programmes, and promote buildability across design stages.
