Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking an Associate in the Roads team based in Birmingham. You will provide technical leadership to design teams, mentor junior staff and deliver highway schemes on time and within budget.

You’ll work with clients to manage expectations and ensure high quality outcomes. The role requires chartered or Incorporated Engineer status, strong leadership and a track record in highways projects, with experience in relevant software and design codes.

Qualifications

• Experience leading multi-disciplinary highway projects and managing design teams.
• Proven ability to develop client relationships and manage expectations.
• Strong understanding of design codes and contract administration.
• Ability to review and check design outputs across Civil 3D/OpenRoads/PDS platforms.
• Knowledge of CDM regulations and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to design teams and mentor junior staff.
• Oversee multi-disciplinary highway projects, managing budget and timelines.
• Develop strong client relationships and advise on project delivery.
• Prepare and review design deliverables, drawings, specs and bill of quantities.
• Coordinate resources and ensure alignment with project goals and quality standards.
