Job summary

Blackmount Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Design Manager for a landmark hotel refurbishment in Central London. You will coordinate across architectural, structural and MEP disciplines to keep the project on programme and resolve design challenges throughout delivery.

Working closely with the Senior Design Manager and broader project team, you will manage consultant and subcontractor design outputs, ensure buildability, and drive seamless integration of MEP systems with architectural

Qualifications

• Experience as a Design Manager with Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractor.
• Background delivering major hotel/hospitality/refurbishment projects.
• Exposure to cut-and-carve works, structural alterations and existing building refurbishments.
• Strong MEP design coordination experience.
• Experience managing consultants and subcontractor design packages.

Responsibilities

• Manage the design process to ensure information is coordinated and delivered in line with the construction programme.
• Resolve technical and buildability challenges, particularly in relation to structural alterations and refurbishment works.
• Manage consultant and subcontractor design deliverables, technical submissions, RFIs and approvals.
• Ensure effective integration of MEP services with architectural and structural design.
• Lead design coordination meetings, manage design changes and ensure regulatory compliance.
