Job summary

Abatec Recruitment is seeking a Design Manager for a £115m+ turnover Civil Engineering contractor working on the Wessex Water framework. You will lead the design team, manage design deliverables to key dates, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

The role requires an engineering degree or HND, extensive multi-disciplinary design experience, and Civil/Water sector exposure. The package includes £55-£65k, company car or allowance, 26 days leave, bonus, 42.5 hour week, and private healthcare.

Qualifications

• HND/Degree in an engineering related discipline.
• Extensive experience working in a multi-disciplinary design environment.
• Experience of working on civil engineering projects, ideally within the Water sector.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design team, ensuring that they meet clients requirements and project objectives.
• Manage the design function, ensuring that design deliverables are produced to allocated key dates.
• Ensure the organisation of design elements, documenting in into the Design Management Plan and preparing regular status updates.
• Attend Programme, project and technical meeting
• Provide support during construction and commissioning stages of work
• Ensure that design complies with all Health and Safety codes and legislation.

As Design Manager you will:
