Design Manager - Interiors

Location: Ipswich

Salary: Up to £60,000 + premium package including bonus

An opportunity to join a Tier 1 contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality interior construction projects across commercial, hospitality, and high-spec residential sectors. They are looking to appoint a Design Manager to oversee projects ranging from £3m to £20m.

About the Role:

As Design Manager, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the design development across multiple projects, ensuring that all technical, programme, and quality requirements are met. You'll work closely with in-house teams, contractors, architects, and consultants to deliver successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage and coordinate setting out and design delivery to programme and quality standards
2. Lead status reporting and allocation of design workloads
3. Raise and track RFI's, technical submittals, and sample approvals
4. Conduct and oversee site surveys
5. Manage project programme reporting and design progress tracking
6. Ensure drawing compliance with architectural requirements and timely issue/status updates
7. Maintain control over drawing revisions and issue requisitions/cutting lists
8. Promote and enforce company quality, environmental, and H&S procedures
9. Represent the company at all relevant design meetings

Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience in a design management role within construction
• Experience on projects between £3m-£20m in value
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; desirable skills in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
• Strong communication and coordination abilities
• Ability to manage multiple design workflows and meet tight deadlines
