Job description

We're looking for a Design Manager to join our Eastern South Construction team working on a large £100m+ defence project in Suffolk.

Location: Essex office, Suffolk site

What will you be responsible for?

• Manage the design process during pre-construction and, as required, the construction phase.
• Interrogate enquiry documents, such as Employer's Requirements.
• Produce a Contractor's Proposal document in liaison with internal departments.
• Manage the design process via external consultants.
• Drive innovative and cost-effective solutions into the design.
• Progress design issues within strict timescales and ensure designers meet information delivery deadlines.
• Attend tender launch, adjudication, and launch meetings as required.

What are we looking for?

This role is ideal if you have:

• Experience delivering high-value, complex design work from a main contractor perspective.
• Ability to organize, plan, and manage workloads.
• Understanding of Building Regulations and Planning Permission procedures.
• Knowledge of different Client procurement routes.
• Site/contract procedures experience is advantageous.
