Owen Daniels is seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead façade design projects for a role based in Henley-on-Thames. The position combines hands-on technical drawing with team leadership to deliver complex façade solutions.

The successful candidate will manage multiple projects end-to-end, coordinate with clients, architects and engineers, and mentor junior designers while maintaining high quality and on-time delivery.

• Significant experience in the façade sector with design/technical leadership.
• Proven ability to produce and interpret detailed technical drawings.
• Experience managing design projects and coordinating workloads.
• Strong understanding of façade systems and construction principles.
• Ability to work autonomously and own projects end-to-end.
• Experience mentoring a small design team (advantage).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Strong organisation and multi-project deadline management.
• Hands-on design approach balancing project management and drawing.

Responsabilités

• Manage façade design projects from initial concept through to completion, ensuring designs are delivered accurately and on programme
• Produce and review detailed technical drawings and design information for façade systems
• Manage your own workload and priorities while coordinating the work of a small design team
• Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and internal teams to resolve design and technical queries
• Review designs for technical accuracy, compliance, buildability, and quality
• Support project planning, design programmes, and coordination across multiple projects

Our client, a well-established business within the façade sector, is seeking a Design Manager to join their team in Henley-on-Thames. The successful candidate will be an autonomous and technically capable designer who can manage projects, coordinate design work, and support or lead a small team. This role would suit either a senior designer ready to step into management or an experienced Design Manager who remains hands-on with technical drawing.

Job Description

• Manage façade design projects from initial concept through to completion, ensuring designs are delivered accurately and on programme

Essential Experience / Skills / Qualifications

• Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of projects from start to finish
• Experience managing or mentoring a small design team would be advantageous
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent organisation and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• A hands‑on approach to design — comfortable both managing projects and producing drawings
