Job summary

CPR Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a Senior Design Manager - Façades in Tonbridge, Kent to lead façade design teams on complex projects.

You will coordinate curtain walling, cladding and envelope systems, drive design programmes, and ensure regulatory compliance with UK standards throughout the project lifecycle. The role requires strong technical knowledge of façades, BIM coordination experience and proven leadership across multi‑discipline teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Design Manager or Façade Design Manager.
• Strong knowledge of curtain walling, cladding and building envelope systems.
• Experience leading design teams and coordinating complex programmes.
• Familiarity with BIM processes and collaborative design environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage design teams, external consultants and subcontractor design activities across façade projects.
• Oversee the design and coordination of curtain walling, cladding and wider building envelope systems.
• Develop, manage and monitor design programmes, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met.
• Ensure designs comply with UK Building Regulations, British and European Standards, CWCT guidance.
• Identify and manage design risks, coordinating with commercial, procurement and construction teams.
• Support collaborative design processes, including BIM coordination and information integration.
• Manage design reviews, technical submissions and information flow throughout the project lifecycle.
• Promote continuous improvement and knowledge-sharing across the design function.

THE OPPORTUNITY

CPXR is recruiting for a Senior Design Manager - Façades to join an established specialist façade contractor based in Tonbridge, Kent.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Design Manager with a strong background in façade systems and building envelope solutions to take on a senior role within a technically driven business.

You will lead and coordinate design teams across complex façade projects, overseeing design programmes, technical compliance and consultant coordination from early design stages through to delivery. This role would suit someone with a specialist façade contracting background who is looking for greater responsibility, technically challenging projects and long-term career progression.

THE ROLE

• Lead and manage design teams, external consultants and subcontractor design activities across façade projects.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Proven experience as a Senior Design Manager, Design Manager or Façade Design Manager.
• Background working for a specialist façade contractor, ideally in a design management capacity.
• Strong technical understanding of curtain walling, cladding and building envelope systems.
• Good knowledge of UK Building Regulations, British and European Standards, CWCT guidance and industry best practice.
• Experience managing design teams, external consultants and complex design programmes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, with Revit experience advantageous.
• Understanding of BIM processes and collaborative design environments.
