Job summary

Mercury Hampton Ltd is seeking an experienced Façade Designer to join its design team.

Based in the UK with two potential office locations in Warwickshire or Staffordshire, the role focuses on curtain walling, glazing and architectural façade systems, taking designs from concept through to manufacture and installation. You will produce detailed drawings, coordinate with architects and contractors, and ensure compliance with Building Regulations and project specs.

Qualifications

• Previous design experience within façade sector.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and BIM.
• Experience producing detailed construction and fabrication drawings.
• Strong knowledge of façade materials and installation methods.
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings and specs.
• Good communication and coordination with stakeholders.
• Design or engineering qualifications or equivalent experience.
• Experience with Revit and façade design software is a plus.

Façade Designer

Location: Warwickshire or Staffordshire (two office locations available)

Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

The Opportunity

We are working with a specialist contractor in the façade industry who is looking to appoint an experienced Façade Designer to join their growing design team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in curtain walling, glazing or architectural façade systems who enjoys working on technically challenging projects and seeing designs progress from initial concepts through to manufacture and installation.

The successful candidate will work closely with the wider design and project teams, producing detailed technical drawings and ensuring designs meet project specifications, building regulations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce detailed façade drawings for approval, construction and as-built stages.
• Prepare fabrication drawings, technical details and material schedules.
• Develop practical, compliant design solutions for curtain walling, glazing and façade systems.
• Coordinate designs with architects, contractors, suppliers and internal project teams.
• Ensure designs meet relevant Building Regulations and project specifications.
• Identify potential technical challenges and support design coordination.
• Maintain accurate drawing registers and technical documentation.
• Assist with design changes, project handovers and associated documentation.

What We're Looking For

• Previous design experience within the façade, curtain walling, glazing or architectural envelope sector.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and an understanding of BIM processes.
• Experience producing detailed construction and fabrication drawings.
• Good technical understanding of façade systems, materials and installation methods.
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings and project specifications.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
• Relevant design or engineering qualifications, or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience with Revit and specialist façade design software would be beneficial.
