Job summary

VolkerFitzpatrick, part of VolkerWessels UK, invites applications for a Design Manager within our Strategic Projects division. You will steer the design aspects of tenders and ongoing projects, ensuring robust technical solutions and compliant deliverables.

You'll bring main contractor experience, a solid grasp of design procedures and CAD tools, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams from bid to delivery, promoting sustainable design and value for our clients.

Qualifications

• Experience with main contractor on construction projects.
• Knowledge of design & engineering procedures.
• Strong understanding of design processes, CAD systems, drawings and models.
• HND/HNC/Degree or equivalent.
• Membership of CIOB or relevant professional institute.
• Ability to lead and provide sustainable design service for bid/delivery.
• Experience on single stage tenders and preferred terms procurement.
• Experience bidding and winning work.

We are currently recruiting for a Design Manager to join our Strategic Projects business.

You will be responsible for managing the design aspects of tenders and current projects.

About you

• The successful candidate will have experience of working for a main contractor on construction projects
• Knowledge of Design & Engineering Procedures
• Have a solid understanding of design processes, CAD systems, drawings and models
• HND/HNC/Degree or equivalent
• Membership of relevant Professional Institute i.e. CIOB
• Ability to lead and provide a professional, comprehensive and sustainable design service for the Client at Bid/Delivery stage
• Experience on both single stage tenders and preferred terms work procurement routes
• Experience on bidding and winning work
