Job summary

VolkerFitzpatrick is seeking a Design Manager to join our Strategic Projects business. You will be responsible for managing the design aspects of tenders and current projects, ensuring robust design delivery across bid and delivery stages.

The role invites candidates with main contractor experience, knowledge of design procedures, CAD systems, and a proactive approach to leading a sustainable design service for clients. We welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds and a collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Experience working for a main contractor on construction projects.
• Knowledge of design and engineering procedures.
• Solid understanding of design processes, CAD systems, drawings and models.
• HND/HNC/Degree or equivalent.
• Membership of a professional institute (e.g., CIOB).
• Ability to lead and provide a professional, sustainable design service for the client at bid/delivery stage.
• Experience on single stage tenders and preferred terms work procurement routes.
• Experience on bidding and winning work.

About you

• The successful candidate will have experience of working for a main contractor on construction projects
• Knowledge of Design & Engineering Procedures
• Have a solid understanding of design processes, CAD systems, drawings and models
• HND/HNC/Degree or equivalent
• Membership of relevant Professional Institute i.e. CIOB
• Ability to lead and provide a professional, comprehensive and sustainable design service for the Client at Bid/Delivery stage
• Experience on both single stage tenders and preferred terms work procurement routes
• Experience on bidding and winning work
