Job summary

Wates provides a Design Management Trainee programme in Bedford offering hands-on experience coordinating design across construction projects. You will work with architects, engineers and project teams to deliver safe, buildable, cost-effective designs that meet client requirements.

You'll experience the full project lifecycle from concept to completion, learn how design information is developed, reviewed and coordinated, and develop your knowledge through workshops and qualifications while

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 2:2 or above by September 2027.
• Degree subject should be relevant to design/build environment.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage design activities across the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants and subcontractors to deliver on time.
• Review drawings and specifications to ensure complete and coordinated designs.
• Identify design risks and buildability issues and support solutions.
• Maintain relationships with clients, designers, subcontractors and internal teams.
• Monitor design programmes and deliverables to support milestones.
• Prepare design reports, meeting notes and project updates.
