Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is seeking an experienced Design Lead to drive multi-disciplinary design across UK water projects. You will lead a team of electrical, mechanical, civil and process designers, delivering detailed designs that meet client needs while managing cost and schedule.

You will develop affordable, low-carbon solutions, challenge engineering approaches, and maintain strong client relationships. The role requires travel to sites within the region and a proactive, pragmatic mindset.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering.
• Chartered or incorporated member of a professional institution (e.g. ICE, IMechE).
• Outline and detailed design experience of water or wastewater projects.
• Strong technical knowledge in own discipline; appreciation of other disciplines.
• Able to travel to sites across the operational region.
• Proactive and pragmatic approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of multi-disciplinary design for projects/programme.
• Develop and lead a team of electrical, mechanical, civil and process designers.
• Lead development of affordable, low carbon solutions including managing opportunities and risks.
• Deliver detailed designs to meet construction needs and client acceptance, including cost and programme management.
• Challenge engineering solutions and delivery effectiveness to ensure best value.
• Provide direction and oversight of project controls and ensure compliance with quality, programme and cost requirements.
• Maintain positive client relationships at project level.
