Job summary

Hewson Consulting in the United Kingdom is seeking a motivated design engineer specializing in structural engineering to work on bridges and civil structures, including temporary works.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in structural or bridge engineering.
• Eligible for Chartered Engineer status (MICE or MIStructE).
• 1st Class or 2:1 Masters degree in Civil Engineering.
• Experience with UK design standards.

Job description

We are looking for a motivated Design Engineer with a passion for structural engineering to join our team. You'll work on a variety of projects, including:

• Design, assessment and checking of bridges and civil structures
• Temporary works engineering
• Geotechnical investigation specifications and reporting
• Technical analysis and design documentation
• This role offers hands-on project involvement, exposure to diverse engineering challenges, and clear progression towards Chartership.
• 1st Class or 2:1 level accredited Masters level degree in Civil Engineering
• Around 2+ years' experience in structural or bridge engineering
• Solid understanding of structural behaviour and analysis
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach, Working towards Chartered Engineer status (MICE or MIStructE)
• Experience with UK design standards
• Willingness to travel for occasional UK or overseas assignments
