Job summary

Brandon James in Hemel Hempstead is seeking a Structural Engineer with 2+ years' consultancy experience to join a well-established multi-disciplinary practice. You will work on diverse projects across commercial, residential, and energy sectors, with support toward Chartership and career progression.

You will design structures using steel, concrete, timber and masonry, produce calculations with Tekla/TEDDS, and collaborate with architects, clients and engineers throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of two years' experience within a structural engineering consultancy.
• Experience designing structures using steel, concrete, timber and masonry.
• Proficiency with Tekla, TEDDS or similar packages.
• A sound understanding of structural engineering principles, geotechnics and foundation design.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills.
• IStructE or ICE membership, or a desire to Chartership.
• Full UK driving licence.

The Opportunity

A well-established multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Structural Engineer to join its growing team in Hemel Hempstead. This is an excellent opportunity for a Structural Engineer with at least two years' post-graduate consultancy experience to further develop their technical expertise while working on a diverse range of structural engineering projects.

The successful Structural Engineer will become part of a collaborative and supportive team, delivering innovative engineering solutions across commercial, residential, research & development, energy and refurbishment projects. This role offers genuine career progression, exposure to technically challenging schemes and full support towards Chartership.

The Role

As a Structural Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

• Designing structural solutions in steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry.
• Producing structural calculations and technical reports using industry-standard software, including Tekla and TEDDS.
• Working closely with architects, contractors, clients and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Assisting with project planning, coordination and technical delivery from concept through to completion.
• Attending project meetings and liaising with stakeholders throughout the design process.
• Conducting site inspections to ensure works comply with design specifications and statutory requirements.
• Developing practical engineering solutions while maintaining high technical standards.
• Working towards Chartered Engineer status with support from experienced mentors.

About You

To be considered for this Structural Engineer position, you will have:
