Job summary

Darlington-based company in the building materials sector is seeking a Design Engineer (Sheet Metal) to produce 2D & 3D CAD drawings, flat patterns, and develop sheet metal fabrications, collaborating with laser cutting, CNC and fabrication teams.

The role offers a four-day work week, training, progression opportunities, and a generous holiday allowance; prior sheet metal experience with AutoCAD/SolidWorks preferred.

Qualifications

• Some experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Background in sheet metal manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Produce 2D & 3D CAD drawings.
• Create accurate flat patterns and developments for sheet metal fabrications.
• Review drawings to ensure accuracy and suitability in comparison with client specification.
• Resolving technical design and manufacturing queries.
• Monday – Thursday (07:00 – 17:00).

Are you a Design Engineer, who has worked in a sheet metal manufacturing environment, who is looking to join a specialist company that can offer an enhanced holiday package and a four-day work week?

The company is a specialist in building materials where they supply innovative products, services and systems to the building façade sector. They manufacture all components in house.

The successful candidate will be completing detailed 2D & 3D CAD drawings, creating accurate flat patterns and development for sheet metal fabrications all whilst working closely with the Laser cutting, CNC and fabrications teams.

This role would suit a Design Engineer who has previously worked with sheet metal, that is now looking to join a growing company that can offer an excellent holiday package as well as a four-day work week.

The Role:

• Produce 2D & 3D CAD drawings
• Create accurate flat patterns and developments for sheet metal fabrications
• Reviewing drawings to ensure accuracy and suitability in comparison with client specification
• Resolving technical design and manufacturing queries
• Monday – Thursday (07:00 – 17:00)

The Person:
