Job summary

Owen Daniels is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join the established design team in Sutton. The role supports development and modification of sheet metal and electromechanical products, ensuring manufacturability for a range of customer requirements.

The successful candidate will work closely with manufacturing, customers and the broader design team to deliver practical, high-quality designs in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong CAD and mechanical design experience.
• Experience working with sheet metal and/or machined components.
• Ability to work quickly and accurately within a fast-turnaround manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Modify and develop existing products to create bespoke variants in line with customer requirements.
• Design and develop sheet metal, machined and electromechanical components and systems.
• Produce accurate CAD designs and engineering drawings.
• Work with steel and aluminium, considering manufacturability and sustainability throughout the design process.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing and shop-floor teams to ensure designs are practical and suitable for production.
• Respond to customer requirements and provide effective design solutions.
