Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a Design Engineer (Mechanical Systems) for a Middlesborough-based role. You will craft precise 2D/3D CAD designs using SolidWorks and AutoCAD, participate in prototyping and testing, and coordinate with suppliers on components.

The position offers progression, a bank holiday-inclusive holiday allowance (22 days), and an early Friday finish. Relocation support is not mentioned; salary is £34,000–£38,000 depending on experience.

Are you a Design Engineer, from a mechanical discipline, looking to join a specialist precision engineering company that can offer career progression and an early Friday finish?

This company specialises in the design and manufacturing of bespoke engineered components, specialist machinery and provide panel building solutions. They mainly supply into the industrial and heavy machinery sectors.

The successful candidates will be producing 2D/3D CAD designs using SolidWorks and AutoCAD. You will participate in the prototyping, assembly/ testing of machinery and liaise with suppliers and vendors regarding specialist components.

This role would suit a Design professional, from a mechanical discipline, who is now looking for an exciting opportunity to join a specialist company that can offer an enhanced benefits package.

The Role:

• Produce detailed 2D CAD drawings and 3D models for precision-engineered components and mechanical assemblies
• Work closely with manufacturing and production teams to ensure designs are in line with customer specifications
• Review technical drawings, dimensions and tolerances to ensure accuracy and quality
• Monday – Thursday (08:00 – 16:45), Friday (08:00 – 13:30)

The Person:

• Experience using AutoCAD or SolidWorks
• Background in industrial machinery design
