Job summary

JCB is seeking a Design Engineer to join our world‑leading Materials Handling product team. You will design and shape tele-handler machines, owning key design areas and coordinating with multi‑disciplinary teams to drive innovation and performance.

The role emphasizes understanding customer requirements, defining BOMs, and ensuring compliance. You will work on development builds, diagnose issues, and present designs with calculations, leveraging NX and Team Centre.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Experience in design of Off-Highway vehicles
• Knowledge of drivetrain, hydraulics and electrical systems
• Teamwork and communication skills with ability to influence change
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (Siemens NX) and Team Centre
• Excellent MS Office skills

Responsibilities

• Own design areas and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams
• Understand tele-handlers and customer requirements
• Translate sales/marketing needs into design briefs with deliverables
• Define the machine BOM
• Supervise development builds
• Diagnose issues and collaborate to solve problems
• Analyse, report and present designs and calculations
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams
• Support product homologation and compliance
• Provide information for sign-off records
