Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking a Design Engineer (Material Handling Equipment) in Worksop to develop bespoke design solutions for material handling and structural steel projects.

You will survey sites across the UK, produce general arrangement and fabrication drawings, and model 3D layouts of plants. The role requires Tekla or Advance Steel experience and a steel manufacturing background; attractive salary and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience taking designs from site surveys through to detailed manufacturing drawings.
• Background in steel or mechanical equipment manufacturing.
• Proficient with Tekla or Advance Steel software.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the engineering team to develop bespoke design solutions for material handling and structural steelwork projects.
• Attend customer sites across the UK to carry out surveys and gather information for engineering designs.
• Produce General Arrangement drawings and detailed manufacturing/fabrication drawings.
• Design conveyors, chutes, hoppers, silos, tanks, ductwork and material handling equipment.
• Produce drawings for primary and secondary structural steelwork, including staircases, platforms and access steelwork.
• Create 3D layouts and models of manufacturing plants and material handling systems.

Are you an experienced Design Engineer or Design Draughtsperson with a strong background in material handling, mechanical engineering or structural steelwork?

Do you have experience taking designs from initial site surveys and general arrangements through to detailed manufacturing drawings?

Established for over 30 years, this successful engineering business specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of bespoke material handling and structural steel solutions for a wide range of industrial applications.

Working across projects involving conveyors, chutes, hoppers, silos, ductwork and structural steelwork, the company has built a strong reputation for delivering practical, high-quality engineering solutions tailored to its customers' requirements.

The role would suit someone with either Tekla or Advance Steel software experience who is from a steel manufacturing background, looking for an exciting opportunity within an established engineering business.

The Role

• Working closely with the engineering team to develop bespoke design solutions for material handling and structural steelwork projects

The Person
