Job summary

ATA Recruitment in Worksop is seeking an experienced Design Engineer / Design Draughtsperson to join a specialist engineering business. You will focus on 3D CAD modeling, GA drawings and detailed fabrication drawings for bespoke material handling and steelwork.

You will work closely with Projects and Fabrication teams, occasionally surveying UK sites to gather data from existing assets. The role requires 5+ years in design/draughting, strong AutoCAD 2D/3D skills, and the ability to manage your

Qualifications

• 5+ years' design/draughting experience.
• Strong AutoCAD 2D/3D skills.
• Experience producing 3D fabrication/manufacturing drawings.
• Experience with conveyors, chutes, hoppers or steelwork preferred.
• Tekla or Advance Steel experience desirable.
• Experience with point clouds, laser scanning or Navisworks advantageous.
• Able to work independently and manage workload.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel occasionally.

Design Engineer / Design Draughtsperson

The Company

Our client is an established engineering business specialising in material handling, mechanical engineering and structural steelwork.

They design, manufacture and install bespoke equipment including conveyors, chutes, hoppers, silos, ductwork, platforms and structural steelwork.

Due to changes within the design team, they are looking for an experienced Design Engineer / Design Draughtsperson to join the team.

The Role

A hands-on design role, with around 90% of your time focused on 3D CAD and drawing work.

You’ll produce 3D models, GA drawings and detailed manufacturing drawings for bespoke material handling and steelwork projects, working closely with the Projects and Fabrication teams.

There will also be occasional UK site surveys to gather information for new and existing projects.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years' design/draughting experience.
• Experience in material handling, heavy industry, steel fabrication or similar.
• Strong AutoCAD 2D/3D skills.
• Experience producing 3D fabrication/manufacturing drawings.
• Experience with Tekla or Advance Steel highly desirable.
• Good understanding of fabrication and practical design.
• Experience with point clouds, laser scanning or Navisworks advantageous.
• Able to work independently and manage your own workload.
• Full UK driving licence and willing to travel occasionally.
