Job summary

Uniting Ambition is seeking an ambitious mechanical/electromechanical engineer to design solutions for automated warehouses in the UK. You will create concepts and detailed designs to meet client automation requirements using AutoCAD, and you will work with suppliers and clients during bids.

This role supports UK expansion, with Midlands offices for occasional meetings; candidates should have a degree or 5+ years in design, and be able to present designs to customers with clear documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of experience in material handling design work.
• Experience in AutoCAD and Excel as a minimum.
• Understanding of material handling industry terms, processes and tolerances.
• Awareness of automated warehouse technology.
• Be able to present your design to the end customer.
• Keeping abreast of product developments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

This role is central to the UK expansion and will provide designs for new clients, building solutions to meet automation requirements in warehouses and material handling.

The role -

• Working on designing clever solutions for materials handling and warehouse automation using AutoCAD
• Analysing and communicating / documenting customer requirements
• Modelling data flows to support solution designs
• Liaising with suppliers to assess the most appropriate equipment for our bids

What are we looking for?
