Are you a Design Engineer with experience working with plastics and, who is looking to take the next step in your career within a company that boast of great staff retention and always looking to promote from within the company first?

This company has been going for over 100 years, resulting in them gaining a consistent workload of interesting bespoke designs. They are now looking to add a new member to their highly skilled team to keep up with work during a high growth period.

The day to day of this role involves designing products such as automatic transfer switches (ATS), switchgears and panels to meet standard specifications, producing 2D and 3D designs for customers, developing new products, liaising with the production and customer service teams and improving designs based on product testing and customer feedback.

The ideal candidate will have 2D and 3D design experience, be able to problem solve, have experience working with plastic and metal, have an awareness of international product standards, good communication skills and be comfortable using Microsoft applications.

The Role:

• Producing 2D and 3D designs
• Designing products (e.g. Automatic Transfer Switches)
• Developing new products
• Compiling BOM's (Bill of materials)
• Site based
• Being in communication with colleagues in the production team
• Prioritising your workload
• Understanding client's needs to be able to deliver designs to their specifications

The Person:

• Design Experience
• SolidWorks experience (preferred not necessary)
• Experience with plastics and metals
• Can commute to Walsall
