Purpose of the role as the Design Engineer:

Responsible for transforming Product Engineering designs into 2D drawings using:

• SolidWorks
• Catia

In your role as the Design Engineer, you will:

• Compile production design drawings to meet customer and manufacturing requirements.
• Develop product design drawings ensuring they are fit for manufacture and satisfy customer needs.
• Provide practical solutions to shop floor problems.
• Coordinate with relevant departments as needed.
• Interpret British standards, customer, and company specifications to meet requirements.
• Collaborate with external suppliers/subcontractors with technical data when necessary.
• Work with Infor XA for item creation, amendments, BOM creation, and routing adjustments.

To be considered for this role, you should have:

• Experience in a similar manufacturing environment.
• ONC/HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven experience with drafting packages.
• Ability to create and check manufacturing drawings.
• Knowledge of geometric tolerancing and material allowances.
• Experience with Dassault Smarteam (preferable).
• Strong product and manufacturing knowledge.
• Ability to create and maintain drawing standard procedures.

Salary depends on experience.
