Job summary

Schroders seeks a senior leader to head Derivative Services & Oversight, guiding teams across derivative operations, data-driven risk management, and external partner coordination. You’ll ensure timely processing of complex trades, maintain controls, and drive improvements in performance and efficiency.

The role requires broad derivatives expertise, strong people management, and a bias for process optimization in a flexible, hybrid London setting.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of derivative products (OTC and exchange-traded).
• End-to-end derivative trade lifecycle knowledge.
• Familiarity with collateral management and margining.
• Awareness of key regulations (EMIR, Dodd-Frank, MiFID II).
• Strong problem-solving and issue resolution abilities.
• Risk-aware mindset with control framework experience.
• Ability to interpret data, reconcile discrepancies, and spot gaps.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• High organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deliverables.
• Proficiency with MarkitWire, DTCC, and Excel; Aladdin knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Derivative Services & Oversight team with accountability for performance.
• Develop staff and conduct 1:1s, appraisals, and policy enforcement.
• Manage stakeholder needs and align with business partners.
• Oversee daily operations by Derivatives Support and escalate issues.
• Monitor lifecycle events, confirmations, and exception reports.
• Ensure robust controls to mitigate derivative trading risks.
• Perform periodic control testing and risk assessments.
• Track KPIs and SLAs with outsourced providers.
• Engage in incident management and root-cause analysis.
