Job summary

Gravesham Borough Council’s Woodville venue is seeking a Deputy to support the Venue Manager in running a busy live entertainment venue. You will lead Front of House and Catering, supervise casual staff, and deputise for the Venue Manager during evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

The role requires a Personal Licence Holder (or willingness to obtain one), strong leadership, excellent communication and a solid understanding of health and safety in licensed venues.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising staff and managing busy operations.
• Experience in venue, hospitality or events management.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety in licensed public venues.

Responsibilities

• Support the Venue Manager in the safe and efficient operation of the venue.
• Lead Front of House and Catering functions.
• Line manage Front of House Senior and Food & Beverage Supervisor and supervise casual staff.
• Deputise for the Venue Manager and take operational decisions when required.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety, licensing and regulatory requirements.
• Support staffing plans to meet operational and event requirements.
• Help develop commercial opportunities, private hire and secondary spend.
• Support the planning and delivery of a diverse events programme.
• Support the training and development of staff across the venue.
• Carry out duty management responsibilities.
