Job summary

KHR - Recruitment Specialists in Medway seeks an experienced Venue Manager to run a busy licensed venue. You will oversee daily operations, bar and food services, events, and evening trade, ensuring safety and high standards.

A hands-on leader will manage HR, finance, stock and compliance while guiding the venue team. The role requires previous management in hospitality or events, with a proactive approach and a valid Personal Licence or willingness to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Experience managing licensed venues, hospitality or events.
• Proven ability to lead a venue team and manage HR, finance and operations.
• Knowledge of stock control, cash handling and cost management.
• Understanding of licensing and health & safety requirements.
• Proactive hands-on approach with leadership by example.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of the venue and ensure safety, efficiency and high standards.
• Lead and develop the venue team, including supervisors and staff.
• Manage staff rotas, attendance and day-to-day staffing needs.
• Coordinate events with organisers and internal teams for successful delivery.
• Ensure opening/closing procedures, security and health checks are completed.
• Monitor sales, costs and margins; contribute to budgets and targets.
• Maintain relations with suppliers and external partners; support recruitment and training.
• Maintain equipment, stock records and incident reports; support busy periods.
