Job summary

Thera Trust is seeking a Deputy Support Manager to assist the Support Manager in delivering person-centered care across community services in Herefordshire. You will lead frontline teams, support recruitment, and ensure regulatory and contractual standards are met to help people live great lives.

As a compassionate leader, you will coordinate safe, effective support, monitor service quality, and build strong relationships with families and professionals while contributing to ongoing development

Qualifications

  • Experience in health and social care settings, with supervisory or lead responsibilities.
  • Evidence of person-centred support and safeguarding practices.
  • Strong communication and organisational abilities; IT literacy and care records handling.

  • Assist with recruitment, induction, and performance management.
  • Ensure care plans are implemented and reviewed regularly.

Contract: Full Time

Hours: 39 hours per week

Salary: £31,825.42

Annual Leave entitlement: 33 days inclusive of bank holidays

We are looking for a Deputy Support Manager to assist the Support Manager in leading teams, to deliver person first support that enables people to live great lives whilst ensuring we meet regulatory, contractual, and organisational requirements.

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Deputy Support Manager to join our dedicated Community Support Team in Herefordshire. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced deputy manager to broaden their experience or a team leader looking for the next step in their career. You will be leading high-quality, person-centred services that empower people to live independently and access their local community.

As Deputy Support Manager, you will work closely with the Support Manager to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate support services. You will provide leadership to frontline teams, promote positive outcomes for the people we support, and help maintain compliance with regulatory and organisational standards. You will be a compassionate and confident leader with a genuine passion for supporting people to achieve their goals and aspirations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the day-to-day management of community-based support.
  • Lead, motivate and supervise support staff to deliver excellent care and support.
  • Assist with recruitment, induction, training, and performance management.
  • Ensure support plans are implemented effectively and reviewed regularly.
  • Promote independence, choice, dignity, and inclusion for the people we support.
  • Monitor service quality, compliance, and safeguarding practices.
  • Assist with rota management, maintaining staffing levels, and resource planning.
  • Build positive relationships with families, professionals, and community partners.
  • Participate in the on-call rota as required.
Essential Requirements
  • Experience working within health and social care, supported living, or community-based services.
  • Previous experience supervising or leading a remote or community-based team.
  • Strong understanding of person-centred / first support and safeguarding practices.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with people we support, families, and professionals.
  • Competent IT skills and experience with care records and reporting systems.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
Desirable
  • Level 4 or 5 qualification in Leadership and Management, or willingness to work towards one.
  • Knowledge of CQC regulations and quality standards.
