Job summary

Returned to Glory showroom in Berkhamsted is seeking a Deputy Shop Manager to support the Shop Manager, lead staff and volunteers, maximise sales and maintain high standards.

This part-time role (4 days / 30 hours, variable rota Mon to Sun) offers DBS clearance and requires the right to work in the UK. You will help create a fantastic experience for customers, donors and supporters.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire the team of staff and volunteers to deliver excellent customer service and maintain high showroom standards.
• Maximise sales and apply retail and commercial flair to donations and displays.
• Ensure the showroom runs smoothly under the guidance of the Shop Manager and DBS clearances where required.

Every day brings something new through our doors — from beautiful furniture and unique finds to those unexpected treasures that customers just have to take home! Behind it all is a creative, hardworking team and a wonderful group of loyal volunteers who make the showroom what it is.

Now, we’re looking for a Deputy Shop Manager to join our management team and help us take our busy furniture showroom to the next level.

What you’ll be doing

Working alongside the Shop Manager, you’ll help lead and inspire our team of staff and volunteers, maximise sales, maintain our high standards and create a fantastic experience for every customer.

You’ll bring energy, enthusiasm and commercial flair to the role — spotting opportunities, getting the best from donations and making sure the showroom is looking its absolute best.

Most importantly, you’ll know that every sale has a purpose. The profits from our shops go directly towards supporting the vital work of the Hospice in our local community.
