Job summary

PepsiCo is seeking a hands-on General Operative - Deputy Shift Lead in Brigg to join a multi-skilled team. The role supports the Operations Shift Lead and provides zone ownership while covering during absences, with a structured 4 on 4 off pattern and day-to-day responsibilities across shift operations.

Initially, you will focus on coordinating activities, following QCDM principles, and ensuring quality on shift. The job includes taking on senior duties after hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment (minimum 3+ years).
• Coaching skills.
• Problem-solving skills, ideally gained through lean six sigma qualification.
• Management experience of leading teams is preferred.
• Flexible, ‘can do,’ attitude to role and duties.
• Results driven and understands the link between action & results.
• Good communicator with individuals at all levels.
• Ability to influence upwards and across in the organisation.
• Good computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to prioritise.

Responsibilities

• Perform the duties of the multi-skilled operative during day-to-day operations, not covering Operations Shift Lead.
• Own and coordinate activities within your zone by aligning people, processes and plant.
• Follow established QCDM principles and key measures on a daily basis.
• Act as quality champion on shift.
• Lead on shift using QCDM processes, driving excellence and improvements.
• Be accountable for balanced scorecard delivery on shift.
• Coordinate timely communication with Operations Manager and on-site stakeholders.
• Manage RTWs and site communications on shift.
• Make short-term manning decisions and act as point of contact for shift tasks.
• Oversee GEMBA across all shift areas.
• Coordinate the 12-hour QCDM escalation meeting on shift.
• Provide leadership during out-of-hours (Mon–Fri 08:00–17:00) as Incident Controller.
